Survey Fees

We believe that you will find our charges are very competitive.

All boats are different and all surveys are different. Our prices are tailored to the size of vessel and the type of survey that you require. Please call for a quote.

Full Condition / Pre-purchase survey

Fee is based on a standard formula of:

             Length (feet) x Beam (feet) x 1.4

For example, a full condition survey on a Contessa 32 would cost approximately £358

For a  Maxum 2400SE it would be £315

General Condition survey

Approximately 1/2 of a Full Condition Survey

Insurance Condition survey

Approximately 3/4 of a Full Condition Survey

Hull Outer Bottom survey

Approximately 1/3 of a Full Condition Survey

Mechanical Installation survey

Approximately 2/3 of a Full Condition Survey. There is a surcharge for multi-engine installations.

Valuations

Included as part of Full, General or Insurance survey if requested at time of booking. Normally we cannot provide a valuation with any other type of survey.

Sea Trials

From £60 for the first hour, then £35 per hour for each subsequent hour, or part thereof.

Other charges

Travel up to 50 miles from Colchester is free of charge. Beyond this distance a rate of £0.40p per mile is charged.

All out of pocket expenses, such as accommodation and flights are at economy rates and are charged at “cost” with the prior approval of the client.

Consultancy fees are charged at a rate of £35 per hour

No VAT is currently charged

Discounts are available for members of the RNSA and some yacht clubs.

Discounts are available for repeat surveys on vessels we have previously surveyed.

All boatyard and other costs in connection with the survey are in addition to the above fees and expenses, and are the responsibility of the client.
